During a recent visit to see family and friends in Achill, my sister and her significant other invited my wife and I to dinner at Ferndale. Having not dined at Ferndale before, we were slightly apprehensive as this would be our first experience.
As it turned out, our apprehension was soon replaced with delight and enjoyment. The Restaurant had just been decorated for Halloween and was so authentic, it would not have been out of place on the set of Fright Night!!
We were greeted by our host Jon who proceeded to oblige our every requirement, each course of food was a culinary delight and cooked to our individual tastes, the scones were to die for, the recipe of which shall remain a secret (At least for now anyway Jon!!!!).
Jon was a brilliant and interesting host, who, having travelled extensively, explained how he and his capable staff, have tried to incorporate his experiences into Ferndale’s menu. Having completed our wonderful meal, Jon had no hesitation in giving us a tour of his themed accommodation , all of which were decorated authentically, and left us feeling like we wanted to stay there that night.
Start to finish, Ferndale is about the “Experience” Jon and his staff leave no stone unturned and are visibly committed to providing a truly wonderful experience.
If you are considering a weekend away or fancy an memorable evening out, I challenge you to do better than Ferndale.

This was the best Restaurant we dined at during our 3 Weeks trip throug Ireland. The dishes were delicious! Apparently the sense for taste experience and fantasy of the very obliging cook are unlimited (we still enthuse about that mouth-watering backed mango cheesecake) Thanks again for that great evening we had!
We have only one complaint: Unfortunately the restaurant is too far away from Luxembourg

I cannot recommend the Ferndale high enough. For years I've been coming to Achill and this place has a large part to play in that. I love the food here and have never had a comlplaint. Jon is a great host and very accomodating if you have any requirments. Eat here, you won't be disappointed. It is a true gem.
